> Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we are often asked. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

When should I order my wedding stationary?

We recommend at least 6 months before the wedding. We will endeavour to deliver your order 4 to 6 weeks from receipt of signed proofs. Don"t worry if you are making last minute decisions, we will always aim to accommodate these with less notice.

When should we decide our guest list?

As soon as possible, remember to consider the size of your reception and your budget.

How many invitations will I need?

Send one invitation per couple, single person or family and add a few extra in case of mistakes and any additional guests you may wish to invite at a later stage. It will cost much less to order them all at the same time.

When do I need to send out the invitations?

Invitations are usually sent out about 6-12 weeks before the wedding, to allow people to reply. If your wedding is around Christmas, allow extra time for postage. RSVP dates should be at least two weeks before the wedding date so that you can finalise the catering and seating arrangements.
Send save the date cards well in advance if your wedding will be on a weekday or at a time when people are likely to be on holiday.

Who sends out the invitations?

Traditionally, the hosts of the wedding day do this, for example parents of the Bride or the bride and groom themselves.

What details do I need on my order of service?

Entrance music, hymns, prayers, marriage, readings, benediction, exit music. Always check the hymns and the Order of Service with your clergy or registrar before placing your order.

How do I plan the seating arrangements?

It helps if people you are seating together have something in common. The top table layout is traditionally: Bridesmaid, Grooms Father, Brides Mother, Groom, Bride, Brides father, Grooms Mother, Best Man. Order matching place cards and table plans for clarity.

Will guests be able to find the church/reception?

You may need to send directions or maps to your guests who are not familiar with the area. These can either be sent with your invitations or after guests have accepted. If your reception is being held at a hotel or country house, you may be able to obtain directions from them on via their website.
